Brunch with Lt. Col. Kelly Latimer
March 8, 2019, 11 AM
In recognition of International Women’s Day, the Frontiers of Flight Museum Women’s Network will host Lt. Col. Kelly Latimer USAF, Ret. as their featured spring speaker. Latimer is the first female research test pilot to join NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center. During Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Latimer flew over 90 combat sorties. She is currently preparing to pilot Virgin Galactic’s first rocket launch of 2020.
“We are delighted to highlight the contributions women are making toward the advancement of aviation and exploration of space,” says Founding Member and Museum Board Director Suzy Fulton. “Having flown over 90 sorties in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraq Freedom, Kelly has distinguished herself as a combat pilot with the bravery necessary for exploring space.”
Lt. Col. Latimer has more than 6,000 flight hours and 1,000 test flight hours in over 30 aircraft during her work with NASA, the U.S. Air Force, and Boeing.
Proceeds will further the Museum programs for young women to flourish in aviation, space exploration, and all STEM careers. We serve nearly 30,000 children each year with STEM education programs.
