TOURS AT THE MUSEUM
The museum offers a unique learning environment for patrons of all ages.
Docent-led and self-guided tours are available for school groups, youth, adults, and senior groups. Guided tours are approximately one hour and focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles and applications in aviation and space flight. Self-guided tours allow teachers the flexibility to explore exhibit galleries at their own pace and to match specific exhibit content to classroom objectives. A self-guided tour handout is available to assist teachers through the exhibit galleries. Groups of ten or more may take advantage of our special group rates.
- Docent-led guided tours are 60 minutes. Please note the guided tours do not cover all exhibits in the museum. Visitors may want to allow extra time for independent exploration.
- To enhance the learning experience, the museum adheres to a 15:1 patron to docent ratio. Large groups will be subdivided to maintain the above ratio.
- School and Youth tours emphasize the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to the advancement of aviation and space flight.
- All groups are encouraged to have a Living History experience as part of their museum visit.
Living History characters include: Amelia Earhart, Wiley Post, Manfred von Richthofen “The Red Baron”, Admiral Rosendahl, Orville Wright, Jimmy Doolittle, and Count von Zeppelin.
