How Kids Grow Through STEM in Exploration Space

We take kids to the Moon, through the Solar System and back to Earth using the fascinating programs in our portable planetarium, SPOC, and the exploration of our Space Flight Gallery, anchored by the Apollo VII Command Module.

Learn more about STEM in Space:

Launched in 2016 with the addition of SPOC, our Exploration Space Initiative is a multi-faceted expansion of our STEM programming that includes a major expansion of our Space Flight Gallery with new interactive learning stations and displays. Also in the plans is a Space Video Series that will be streaming online for use in any classroom – teaching about the past, present and future of space exploration.

When is North Texas Giving Day?

Thursday, September 14, from 6 AM Central – Midnight at NorthTexasGivingDay.org.

What is North Texas Giving Day?

North Texas Giving Day is Communities Foundation of Texas’ annual 18-hour online giving extravaganza for North Texas. The day is powered by creative nonprofits, social media activism, area wide collaboration, and of course North Texas coming together!

North Texas Giving Day’s goal is to help build awareness and support for nonprofits in North Texas, while making giving easy for donors. Since 2009, North Texas Giving Day has pumped $156 million into the North Texas community. In 2016, $37 million was raised through more than 142,000 gifts benefiting 2,518 nonprofits.

Who created North Texas Giving Day?

In 2009, Communties Foundation of Texas (CFT) created North Texas Giving Day, as one of the first—and now the largest—community-wide giving events in the world! Presenting North Texas Giving Day is one of the many ways CFT serves as a hub for philanthropy in North Texas. As one of the largest community foundation in the nation, CFT professionally manages more than 900 charitable funds for families, companies, foundations and nonprofits and has awarded more than $1.6 billion in grants since its founding in 1953.
