And in celebration of another national milestone, the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, we feature Astronaut John E. Blaha, Col. USAF (Ret.) as the Keynote Address for Moon Day 2019 on Saturday, July 20th from 10 am to 4 pm.

Beal Bank and Beal Bank USA, as well as other affiliated companies, have donated millions of dollars to colleges and charity sponsorships and to prizes for science and math education. Founder Andy Beal also formulated the Beal Conjecture, which is a generalization of Fermat’s Last Theorem, and offers a $1,000,000 prize for the solution.

Founded in 1988, the Beal Bank family of companies is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and comprises one of the largest private financial institutions in the United States. In 1997, as part of a space privatization trend encouraged by the federal government, Andy Beal started an aerospace company to build rockets with the goal of placing communications satellites in orbit. Operating with more than 200 employees from a 163,000-square-foot space in Frisco, TX, Beal Aerospace focused on a three-stage, 200-foot-tall rocket. Powered by hydrogen peroxide and kerosene, the engine eliminated the need for a separate ignition system because, as the hydrogen peroxide oxidized, it ignited the kerosene.

On March 4, 2000, Beal Aerospace tested the BA-810 Stage 2 engine which was the largest liquid rocket engine built since NASA’s Apollo program of the 1960s. The 810,000-pound vacuum thrust hydrogen peroxide/kerosene engine made a 21-second firing at the company’s engine test facility in McGregor, Texas.

Through his banks, Andy Beal is an annual title sponsor of:

· The Dallas Regional Science and Engineering Fair, affiliated with Southern Methodist University

· The Southern Nevada Regional Science and Engineering Fair, affiliated with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

In addition to annual sponsorships of science and engineering fairs, Andy Beal’s companies have made donations to other worthy causes, such as the Dallas Independent School District, the Clark County (Nevada) School District, NPower North Texas and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, as well as a major annual supporter of the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
