Premium membership in the Spirit of Dallas Club is about seeing it first—up close and personal – at member-only and VIP events. It’s about celebrating Dallas’ can-do spirit of the past and present. It’s about being part of one of the leading air and space museums in the nation as we educate, motivate and inspire the next generation.
The Spirit of Dallas Club was originally created in 1927 by local business leaders like George Bannerman Dealey, Karl Hoblitzelle and John W. Carpenter who recognized the importance of putting Dallas on the nation’s aviation map.
During the 1920s, the Spirit of Dallas Club made it possible for local aviator and World War I Ace Captain Bill Erwin to represent Dallas in long-distance flying competitions – including the Dole Air Derby race between Oakland, California and Honolulu, Hawaii. The Dallas Spirit was unveiled at Love Field on August 6, 1927.
