In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission everyday, Museum Day  is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket…for free.

The Frontiers of Flight Museum, a proud Smithsonian Affiliate Museum since 2004, once again will participate in Museum Day Live! Aircraft and space vehicles on display include the Apollo 7 spacecraft and the one-of-a-kind Vought V-173 “Flying Pancake.” See new exhibits especially created for Museum Day 2012 and go inside the Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 “Spirit of KittyHawk”—the entire airplane!—that anchors an extensive new exhibit about the airline.
