July 1949 - Unveiled this month the first all jet powered passenger liner, the British de Havilland D.H.106 Comet. The pressurized, 36 passenger, 4 engined aircraft cruised at 35,000 ft. and 490 mph.

Dallas Love Field was rated the 5th busiest airport in the United States for 1964 with over a quarter of a million landings.
